چکیده

The safety of underwater operation depends on the accuracy its speed logs which location probe and calibration thoroughness. Thus, probes are placed in areas where flow water is smooth, continuous, without high velocity gradients, air bubbles, or vortical structures. In present work, around two different submarines numerically described deep-water near-surface conditions to identify hull zones could be installed. First, numerical setup a multiphase solver supplied with OpenFOAM v7 was verified validated using DARPA SUBOFF-5470 submarine at scaled model including sail configuration H/D=5.4 Fr=0.466. Later, grid sensitivity resistance assessed for full-scale Type 209/1300 H/D=0.347 Fr=0.194. Free-surface effect characteristics evaluated by comparing operational conditions. Results shows that bow near free-surface regions should avoided due gradient, pressure fluctuations, large turbulent Moreover, stronger close nose. conclusion, installed acceleration region local 15% higher than navigation surface condition. A 4% correction factor applied readings compensate effect.

Numerical Modeling of Seismic-induced Soil Response Around Submarine Pipeline

Seismic-induced pore pressure and effective stresses in the saturated porous seabed under seismic loading are the main factors that govern the overall stability of submarine pipelines. In most of the previous investigations for the seismic-induced dynamic response around a submarine pipeline have been limited to two-dimension cases. In this paper, a three-dimensional finite element model includ...

Numerical Investigation of Fluid Flow Characteristics Around Slide Gates Using Multi-Zonal Method

One method of solving the governing equations of fluid flow about complex geometries is to use multi-zonal method. In this method the overall domain is divided into small number of simpler domains. In each zone, the flow field is solved independently of other zones. The boundary conditions for connecting zones are enforced to convey the necessary linkage. This multi – zonal procedure has been a...
